Biography
Christine Gale Harrison enjoys a busy and varied career as a violinist and teacher. After studies with Leo Wigdorchik she spent two seasons as a member of the Regina Symphony Orchestra. On returning to the Toronto area, she began a freelance career performing with many chamber, symphonic, and theatre orchestras.
Christine holds a Violin Teachers' A.R.C.T. (as well as Piano Performers A.R.C.T.) and has been teaching students from beginner to diploma level for 25 years. She is interested in the adult learner, and for several years has been invited to coach at an adult summer music program in Yorkshire, England.
Christine is acknowledged internationally as an expert in the field of musicians' injuries. She is co-author of the book The Athletic Musician, and a consultant at the Stouffville Musicians' Clinic. As well as weekly private violin lessons, Christine offers consultation lessons to students, amateurs and professional players interested in re-evaluating the ergonomics of their playing set-up.
Christine is a member of the Royal Conservatory of Music College of Examiners and Local 149 of the Toronto Musicians' Association.
